Horse Gears

We’re launching Gear. So you can get ahead of the game.

Overview

There are three types of Gear sets:

  • Helios

  • Poseidon

  • Artemis

Within each set, there are 4 different Gear pieces, including:

  • Saddles

  • Helmets

  • Horseshoes

  • Body Armor

For a total of 12 different Gear types. On top of that, each Gear type is broken down into 5 levels, denoted by their colors:

  • White (Lv. 1)

  • Green (Lv. 2)

  • Blue (Lv. 3)

  • Purple (Lv. 4)

  • Gold (Lv. 5)

Gear can be obtained by purchasing a Gear Ticket during our Gear sales event. Gear Tickets can be exchanged for a Gear Mystery Box. Each Gear Mystery Box contains one random Level 1 Gear. Additionally, there will be an initial maximum supply of 1,600 Gear Tickets for sale.

Equipping Gear

You will be able to equip Gear on any horse, though Gear cannot be worn on more than one horse at the same time. Upon equipping Gear on a horse:

  1. The appearance of the horse will change

  2. The gear will boost horses’ spring speed, acceleration, and aggressiveness randomly depending on the type of Gear. Different levels of Gear will boost different attributes of horses. Gear can have additional bonus effects:

  • White Gear (Level 1): one random attribute

  • Green Gear (Level 2): boost two random attribute

  • Blue Gear (Level 3): boost three random attributes + one random effect

  • Purple Gear (Level 4): boost four random attributes + two random effects

  • Gold Gear (Level 5): boost four random attributes + three random effects

Disclaimer: Bonus effects will be introduced during the next update, and are not available in the initial Gear NFT release

Upgrading Gear Levels

You can upgrade Gear to further strengthen the attributes of a horse. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Requires at least one piece of Gear. The Gear must be unequipped from the horse to upgrade.

  2. Also requires Gear Fragments which will be used for upgrades.

  3. Each upgrade has a success rate based on the Gear’s level.

Important: If an upgrade fails, the fragments will be consumed nevertheless.

Reroll Gear Attributes

Not satisfied with your Gear attributes? You can reroll for new stats! During the process of rerolling Gear attributes, $DBY will be consumed. The higher the class of Gear, the more $DBY you will need to reroll.

Wear (Durability)

The Gear system has the additional attribute of durability. Gears will wear and tear after every race and be worn from 100% to 0%.

Repair & Decompose

When your Gear wear reaches 0%, Gear will break and will no longer be usable. If you’d like to reuse the Gear, you can repair it. Here’s how to do that:

During the process of Gear repair, Gear Fragments will be required. You can repair your Gear at any point in time. The lower the % of the Gear’s wear, the more Gear Fragments you’ll need to repair your Gear.

How to Get Gear Fragments?

  1. The MetaDerby team will airdrop free Gear Fragments via campaigns

  2. Decompose your Gear into multiple fragments (the higher the class of a Gear, the more fragments you can get from decomposing it)
